The Best Vegan-friendly Cafes in North Melbourne for Great Food

Vegan-friendly cafes in North Melbourne: Welcome to vegan heaven

You don’t have to R.I.P to go to vegan heaven, because vegan heaven is a place named Melbourne. North of the river is a very popular and trendy place for young, hip people and you know what that means? Gentrification. So of course some of the best vegan restaurants in Melbourne are North of the Yarra River.

What you will find here:

In this post you will find the awesome vegan restaurants in Northern and Western Melbourne (basically North of Yarra River) that have been taste-tested by me. There are also some vegan-friendly cafes in North Melbourne that are worth mentioning, as well! Are you looking for more delicious vegan food in Melbourne? I have put together a list of my favourite spots for Avocado on Toast in Melbourne and The Best Vegan Restaurants South of the River in Melbourne.

Mister Nice Guy is the best vegan cafes to go to in Melbourne for delicious cakes and bakery food. This spot is my go-to for birthday cakes as they make an amazing range of cakes – and they deliver! Make sure you try their cupcakes if you don’t have enough room for cake.

Future Sushi is an awesome store with an amazing vision – veganising sushi. Vegan food in Melbourne is always innovative, and here you can find salmon, tuna, and other sushi favourites that you probably thought you’d never get to eat again. Their salmon sushi is very realistic, and I highly recommend coming here if you’re sick of the standard avocado sushi rolls us vegans get stuck with at most other joints.

Trippy Tacos is not a vegan-only restaurant but it has a range of vegan-friendly options. Trippy Tacos is some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in Australia. Plus, there is nothing like sitting outside on some crates to make you feel like you’re in Fitzroy.

Recommended For: Beyond Pho

Very few times in your life do you find yourself visiting a spot you can’t actually believe exists. That is how I felt going to this place. My non-friends and I turned up late one evening and were shocked at how delicious and cheap the food was (which is the ultimate plan, right?). This is probably Melbourne’s best kept secret, and I think I converted some of my friends that day. The Beyond Pho is so realistic and tasty that you’ll never want to eat pho anywhere else again. Yes, I said that.

Is the North Side Good for Vegan Cafes?

North Melbourne is the epicentre of vegan culture! I haven’t found a place as veganified as North Melbourne. There is just so much vegan food in Melbourne it is almost overwhelming. Almost
