About The Blog
A Picturesque Life is an art and travel blog sharing real experiences about traveling for the purpose of creating. I started this blog to bring artistic purpose and direction to my travels. For me travel has always been an opportunity to get inspired and push me to create something meaningful.
When I started living abroad at 21 I realised that many creatives come to a crossroad where they feel that they have to give up their dream of being a creative in order to travel. That’s when I decided that I wanted both – to live a creative life and travel. I decided to create this space as a resource for any other artists who are passionate about travel and share my love of both travel and art.

I’m an illustrator and former art & design teacher from New Zealand who decided to move from Japan to Melbourne, Australia during a pandemic. I enjoy slow travel,  playing invisible tourist, and painting my experiences.
So far I have spent over eight years living abroad in England and Japan before moving to Australia. At the moment I am focusing on exploring my beautiful neighborhood in Australia for inspiration and planning trips around the world between my 9-5.
I have a wonderful fiancé, who shares my love of photography. He takes most of the beautiful photos of me you see here on A Picturesque Life.
Apart from traveling and creating, I am also a vegan-café hunter, outfit extraordinaire, and reading enthusiast. You can always find me on Instagram over here @apicturesquelife.
