Where to Buy Colourful Vegan-friendly Travel Bags in Australia

What do you know about vegan travel bags, Sara?

When I was trying to look up vegan-friendly travel bags all I could find was expensive, brand-name bags made of mango skin or boutique American and British brands that don’t even ship to Australia. Of course, I found this super annoying because all I wanted was a cute vegan-friendly travel bag that was good quality without being a) ugly or b) one million dollars. So here I am, doing what I do best – ranting about it on the internets.

What you will find here

Here are brands that don’t necessarily sell vegan-only products and they vary in sustainability (I recommend Good On You if you want to do some checks for that). These products are non-animal material bags like nylon that I’ve taken on many travels and I use in my daily life because they have both form and function. They’re also brands that range from $20-$150 so I feel that they are a good price point for the quality. These are bags that will last you many, many years if you look after them and are versatile so you don’t need to worry about keeping up with the trends.

Don’t worry, I’m not going to recommend stuff I don’t own. I have bought from these brands myself with my own money. This isn’t a sponsored post but I do use affiliate links for some brands.

Baggu

Baggu is awesome because their Medium Nylon Crescent bag has a lot of cute designs like Gudetama and Hello Kitty. They come in a huge range of kawaii colours. They’re basically like a slightly bigger, more designed Uniqlo bag. They’re made of recycled nylon too, so it is a win-win! They also have a large version but it is probably too big for carrying around all day sightseeing.

Uniqlo

The Uniqlo Round Mini Shoulder Bag is so hot right now. They come in a range of colours now like pastel pink, purple, blue or black. I bought my first one back when they first released them in Japan and they only came in black and beige. It is made of nylon and polyester. This is perfect for when you’re spending the whole day out exploring a new city but want to still look cute because it is insanely roomy, I usually carry a light jacket or water bottle in it.

Fjällräven

If you’re looking for a huge range of colours, check out the Kanken Hip Pack. This bag is made of vinylon and comes in so many cute and colourful shades including three (!!!) different shades of pink. I, of course, have this in a pink shade and I love using it when I want to carry just my essentials on me without having to worry about getting robbed as it sits right on your front. I used it a lot while checking out the busiest sights in Italy last year. You can also get zipper clip or D ring to keep the zips closed for extra safety.

You’re also able to make Fjallraven bags more waterproof using their waterproof wax bars however please note that it is made from paraffin and beeswax.

Lululemon

The Everywhere Belt Bag 1L is another super cute smaller bag you can wear as a crossbody or belt bag that comes in a range of colours. This one is super soft but also comes in some more savvy colours like white/gold, opal, and grey. The metallic colours are great for a more dressy look and the pastel colours are great for something more casual. These are perfect for a morning walk from your resort or for heading down to the hotel restaurant. This is made of nylon and polyester.

Samsonite

Tiny bags just not cutting it? I have the Classic Carryall from Samsonite and it is so cute. I actually used this when I needed to go into the office too because it is great for carrying a laptop. It has multiple pockets so it is perfect for a carry-on bag for a weekend away. It is made of nylon and PU.

If you’re looking for a backpack, I have a Samsonite Backpack, too. It is made of nylon and PU. It is what I use when travelling overseas along with my Samsonite suitcases (yes, I’m a big fan). I love Samsonite because they have a great record of making high quality items specifically for travel. Plus, they’re usually very chic on the outside but pastel on the inside!

Both of these vegan travel bags have hidden pockets and a smart sleeve so you can stack them onto your suitcase so you don’t have to carry them when you’re at the airport, train, or zipping between your accomodation.

VERDICT

What is the best vegan travel bag?

I think that question really depends on the function as well as your dedication to your look. I think it is definitely harder to find a cute, high quality travel bag that is made of vegan-friendly materials that isn’t going to break the budget. But I think that the brands above are great for this and you’re bound to find something you like.
