First Impressions

We actually booked Amnaya Resort Kuta because it was super close to the airport and we were arriving from Australia into Denpasar at 10pm Bali time and we looking for something easy for the first night. We ended up choosing Amnaya Resort Kuta because it looked nice and the price was very sweet. We paid AU$128 for a Deluxe Double Room including breakfast (on sale from AU$389).

Plenty of seats by the pool.

On arriving (at 11pm by that time), we found out we were being “upgraded to a Junior Suite”. I was in a bit of a daze after the flight and just brushed it off, hoping to get into my bed as fast as possible. Check-in was very straight forward and they offered us a delicious juice while we checked in. After checking in, we headed to our room.

The Look

Amnaya Resort Kuta has a boutique feel and the rustic style is very interesting. The main lobby is like an open-air, cement building with natural materials used throughout. I could see through to the pool and I was already excited because it looked very bohemian chic. I could tell this was the kind of place I like to stay.

Beautiful, raw details.

The Room

OK. So the room. The upgraded room (Junior Suite) was massive and far more than we had expected. It has the biggest bath I’ve every experienced irl and my partner and I could easily both fit in there. We had actually planned to go straight to sleep but I ran us a bath because why not?, right?

The picture does not do it justice – this bath was huge!

Then there was the bathroom products. Oh. My. God. These smelled like they were hand-crafted by fragrance-artisans. It’s like they put together every smell I loved (I actually considered purchasing the vanilla lavender bath concoction but then I quickly remembered I don’t have a bath at home).

The lotions and potions here were my favourite part of my stay.

The room reminded me of a studio apartment and included a separate shower and bath, a comfortable bed, a balcony with day bed, and a sitting area with a tv, desk, and a small table with chairs. In contrast the Deluxe double we had originally chosen looks similar but doesn’t include a bath and small dining table, and is about 15sqm smaller.

The bed was comfortable and faced the balcony.

The Facilities

Bhava Spa

There is a popular spa at Amnaya Resort Kuta (Bhava Spa) that is actually the #1 rated spa in Kuta (as of writing this review).

Pool

The pool is also fabulous. It is a nice depth with a shallow end for children (however I did not see a single child during my stay at this hotel) and perfectly positioned for day time sun with plenty of sun loungers.

The Food & Drink

The restaurant (Sukun Restaurant) is where breakfast is served and is famous for their Balinese flavours and their Megibung (a traditional meal from East Bali). For breakfast, they have a traditional Bali set menu or you can pick a la carte from the menu. They have vegan options, too! I was able to get a selection of fruit, an acai bowl, and avocado on toast.

Fruit platter at breakfast is one of the a la carte options.

They didn’t have fancy coffees but I got a plain black coffee and some coconut milk. My partner got the traditional Bali set menu (not vegan) and he enjoyed it a lot. Even though this isn’t a buffet breakfast, the amount of food and quality on offer leaves you feeling like you got an awesome deal (are you seeing a pattern?).

The Location

The location is one of the best parts of Amnaya Resort Kuta as it is across the road from everything you need but it is also set far back from the road so there is hardly any noise issues. Infact, I woke up to birds singing and a chipmunk (?) snoozing on my balcony. It really didn’t feel like I was 5 minutes walk from the Discovery mall and the beach. How To Book Amnaya Resort Kuta

My favourite way to book hotels is through Booking.com and that is where I found the awesome discount for Amnaya Resort Kuta. Booking.com offers a price guarantee (even when not paying upfront and paying at the hotel), they match prices, and they also offer a wide range of rooms with benefits (like afternoon tea and breakfast). Who would love to stay at Amnaya Resort Kuta?

Amnaya Resort Kuta was made for people like me. If you’re a DINK couple (dual income, no kids) or SINK (single income, no kids) looking for a relaxing resort that has a small, boutique vibe then this is your jam. Most of the people I saw here were either couples or besties enjoying a relaxing, aesthetic vacation. Even if you get the smallest room available, I think this hotel is 100% worth the money and I would happily pay full price for the experience (which as of writing this ranges from AU$300-600).

Infact, I would go as far to say that Amnaya Resort Kuta should probably be charging more for the level of quality they provide! I checked the price for the Junior Suite and for the day that I was staying it was on sale for AU$209 dollars (including breakfast). That is insanely good. Looking for more hotels I’ve reviewed?
