a vegan Copenhagen Dream
Are you looking for some of the best vegan spots in Copenhagen? I got you! During my 3 day stay in Copenhagen I tried quite a few vegan cafes and restaurants. Copenhagen is popular for their buttery danishes and fish, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find vegan options!
What you will find here
Here you will find three vegan recommendations. These are the spots I have personally tried and can honestly recommend. I’ve travelled all over the world eating vegan food and these three spots are worth the visit no matter where in the world you’re coming from.
Bistro Verde
Bistro Verde was actually recommended to me by many locals. It is just around the corner from Nyhavn, and has a very cosy, luxe-pinterest aesthetic to it. We ordered a range of danishes and treats from spandauer (a danish pastry) to flødeboller (a creamy, chocolate-covered thing). We sat in the sunshine at the beautiful outdoor tables lining the street outside the cafe and it was just such a vibe. This is the place you want to visit for that real Copenhagen feel. Plus, delicious Danish pastries! Yay!

Sankt Annæ Pl. 22, 1250 København, Denmark
Kaf
Kaf is in the trendy Nørrebro area and it is the quintessential Copenhagen vegan cafe for creative, artsy vibes. It is a small, unpretentious cafe down a quiet street and serves lots of delicious bakery goods. Cakes and bakery goods are seasonal, so there is always something new to try here. We had a range of cakes and slices and they were all unique and scrumptious.
This is definitely the sort of place where you feel welcome and you can just relax and enjoy some good food. One thing to keep in mind though is that this is a smaller spot indoors so it can get quite busy, however there is plenty of seating outside under the trees if it is a nice day.
Where to find Kaf
Birkegade 21, 2200 København, Denmark
Eden Jaxx
Eden Jaxx is a burger joint popular with the locals. I know, you’re probably thinking “vegan burger joint? How original”. But let me tell you, exhausted from our 24 hour flight from Melbourne to Copenhagen, we ordered a Smash burger from here and it was the best burger we’ve ever had. Ever! I dream about this burger daily. I also had the KFC one but it was only OK.

VERDICT
What are the best vegan cafes and restaurants in Copenhagen?
The best cafes are ones that are uniquely Danish. That is why I think Kaf and Bistro Verde are worth visiting! However, I will also reiterate how delicious Eden Jaxx is and I think everyone needs to try their smash burger!
