One of the best locations for photos in Singapore - Little India!

Singapore, the King of aesthetic places

OK, so you probably already know that Singapore is a vibrant and bustling city that is known for its unique mix of cultures, stunning architecture, and delicious cuisine. You’ll probably also not be surprised then that the city is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike because one of the most popular things to do is to capture the beauty of the city in photos for social media (Instagram and TikTok are full of FOMO-inducing videos of aesthetic places in Singapore). Infact, there are so many beautiful locations for photos in Singapore.

From towering skyscrapers to serene gardens and colourful street art, Singapore has plenty of Instagrammable places that are sure to make your feed pop and make your TikTok followers spiral into doom-scrolling Singapore travel. Whether you’re a seasoned influencer or just looking to snap a few photos to share with friends, there are plenty of spots in Singapore that are perfect for capturing the perfect shot.

What you will find here:

In this guide, I’ll take a closer look at some of the most Instagram-worthy places in Singapore. I have personally been to all of these places and the photos are my own. This is my personal experience visiting these places so you’ll get my opinion on whether or not they’re worth the visit (to learn more about me you can find my Blog FAQ here). If you’re planning a trip to Singapore, I’ve also put together a post outlining a 3 Day Itinerary (which is what I did when I visited!). Alright, let’s get to it!

One of the best locations for photos in Singapore - Gardens by the Bay's Lily Pond

Photo Location #1: Water Lily Pond

Why This Spot Is So Amazing For Photos:

The Water Lily Pond in Singapore is the perfect spot for those who want to make a splash on Instagram (lol). With serene water and stunning lilies, this place is so gorgeous at sunset and sunrise. Located in the Gardens by the Bay, this spot is perfect for views of Marina Bay Sands and one of my favourite locations for photos in Singapore.

What To Watch Out For:

Weirdly this spot was not busy when we went, and there were only two other couples taking photos. Everyone took their turn and it was a really pleasant experience. There is one rock to sit on which you can get to by stepping on a few flat stones (it’s not scary at all – trust me I’m super risk averse!). I found it super easy to get a nice photo here, so I would highly recommend this as one of the most aesthetic places in Singapore.

Where To Find The Perfect View For A Photo:

Kampong Glam's view of The Sultan Mosque.

Photo Location #2: Kampong Glam

Why This Spot Is So Amazing For Photos:

Kampong Glam is one of the most popular locations for photos in Singapore because you get views of The Sultan Mosque and the colourful streets all in one. The Sultan Mosque in Singapore is like a work of art that you can pray in. This colourful and ornate mosque is a must-visit for anyone looking to add a pop of culture to their feed. It is one of the most popular spots in the Arab Quarter of Singapore.

What To Watch Out For:

We heard this spot gets very busy so we went very early in the morning (around 8am). It was completely empty and we had the whole place to ourselves! The only ones there were two stray calico cats and it is definitely one of the most aesthetic places in Singapore. I highly recommend visiting The Sultan Mosque if you want to take Instagrammable photos in Singapore.

Where To Find The Perfect View For A Photo:

One of the best locations for photos in Singapore, Sentosa's The Outpost Hotel.

Photo Location #3: The Outpost Hotel Sentosa

Why This Spot Is So Amazing For Photos:

If you’re looking for literally the cutest pool, this is it. The Outpost Hotel in Sentosa, Singapore is the ultimate destination for couples looking for a luxurious and Instagram-worthy staycation. The Outpost Hotel is an adults-only hotel, but if you’re looking to stay with children you can try The Village (kid-friendly). There is also The Barracks Hotel (luxury British colonial houses turned into hotel rooms) or Oasia Resort (wellness resort) within the complex, and all of these hotels give you access to the gorgeous main pools. With sleek and modern design, stunning views of the island, and luxurious amenities, The Outpost Hotel is sure to inspire you to take photos. Staying at this adults-only hotel also gives you a customised minibar and exclusive access to the only rooftop pool and day club on the island!

What To Watch Out For:

I woke up super early to get this photo. The pool opens at 8am which is when I headed out to the pool. It was mostly empty, with some people walking around the grounds. I recommend heading to the pool first thing while everyone else is at breakfast. Even if you don’t get up early, there are so many beautiful spots and pools in this resort complex that it is one of the easiest locations for amazing photos in Singapore.

Selegie Arts Centre

Photo Location #4: Selegie Arts Centre

Why This Spot Is So Amazing For Photos:

The Selegie Arts Centre in Singapore is where creativity and history collide, like a museum that’s been transformed into an artist’s playground. From exhibitions to workshops, this place is sure to paint a vivid picture on your Instagram.

What To Watch Out For:

It gets really hot in Singapore, and this spot is a bit out of the way. We walked here from Little India and it was about a 15 minute walk so it is not the easiest of locations for photos in Singapore. By the time we got here, we were so sweaty we thought we might just combust into a pool of water on the ground. There is no shade either, so we clicked a few snaps and then went to grab a taxi.

The National Orchid Garden in Singapore

Photo Location #5: National Orchid Garden

Why This Spot Is So Amazing For Photos:

The National Orchid Garden in Singapore is a floral paradise that will add a pop of colour to your Instagram feed. With over 60,000 orchid plants and more than 1,000 species and hybrids on display, this garden is sure to bloom your followers’ interest in your photos. The Botanic Gardens in Singapore is definitely the highlight of any Singapore trip – and if you only have a short amount of time in Singapore this is probably the spot I would recommend because its one of the best locations in the Botanic Gardens for photos that are just so Singapore.

What To Watch Out For:

The National Orchid Garden in Singapore is located within the Botanic Gardens. The Botanic Gardens itself is free however the National Orchid Garden section costs to enter. We went just as it was opening and it was a bit busy. It was still fine to take photos – but I imagine it would be crazy busy by midday. It is always a bit difficult to get good photos of the archways as they’re quite popular in the social media world.

Where To Find The Perfect View For A Photo:

One of the best lcations for photos in Singapore, Tan Teng Niah in Little India.

Photo Location #6: Tan Teng Niah

Why This Spot Is So Amazing For Photos:

Tan Teng Niah is located in Little India and is definitely the highlight of the area and one of the most aesthetic places in Singapore. The Tan Teng Niah house in Singapore is a vibrant and charming spot that will add a touch of culture and history to your Instagram feed. With its colourful facade and unique architecture, this heritage house is a must-visit for anyone looking to add some character to their photos.

What To Watch Out For:

Nearby there are quite a few colourful shops so make sure you look around. It is such a cute spot and easy to get some photos! Again, I went quite early – before lunch and there were already a couple of people there.

Where To Find The Perfect View For A Photo:

Haji Lane.

Photo Location #7: Haji Lane

Why This Spot Is So Amazing For Photos:

Haji Lane is one of those spots that is always recommended to visitors. With its vibrant murals, eclectic shops, and unique cafes, this alleyway sounds like it would be a photographer’s heaven. I went super early so I was able to snap some shots outside the more interesting shops but otherwise I imagine once it gets busy it would feel a little like a tourist trap.

What To Watch Out For:

The best part is around 25 Haji Lane – near the Juice Clinic and FUNQ. Most of the street is otherwise overrated in my opinion. If you only have time for one spot, I’d recommend Bussorah Street, Kampong Glam which is by far one of the most aesthetic places in Singapore.

Where To Find The Perfect View For A Photo:

Garden By The Bay's Supertree Grove

Photo Location #8: Supertree Grove Viewpoint

Why This Spot Is So Amazing For Photos:

At this spot, you’re a little closer to the Supertree Grove but still not quite underneath them.

What To Watch Out For:

This spot gets really busy as it is in the walkway so you have a collection of people wanting to take a photo as well as people trying to get past to get down or up into the grove. The lift entrance is also here so it can get quite crazy. I do not recommend trying to get a photo here at night.

Where To Find The Perfect View For A Photo:

Cloud Forest in Garden by the Bay.

Photo Location #9: Cloud Forest

Why This Spot Is So Amazing For Photos:

The Cloud Forest in Singapore is a breathtaking indoor wonderland that will take your Instagram feed to new heights. With its towering waterfall, misty clouds, and lush greenery, this attraction offers stunning photo opportunities that will make your followers feel like they’re on top of the world. You’ll also feel like you’re in line for a knock-off Disneyland ride.

What To Watch Out For:

When we went, Cloud Forest was decked out for the new Avatar movie. This definitely didn’t help the off-brand Disneyland vibes. Due to the avatar theme, there were a lot of kids and quite a long line so you move slowly through each section. Out of all the parts of Gardens by the Bay that you need to pay for, I definitely think this is the best (the other ones are complete tourist-traps). Make sure you get a photo at the entrance as this is probably the best spot under the waterfall. This is also the only time you won’t be basically in a slowly moving line so you won’t feel pressured to move along quickly.

Where To Find The Perfect View For A Photo:

Sentosa's Palawan Viewing Tower

Photo Location #10: Palawan Viewing Tower

Why This Spot Is So Amazing For Photos:

The Palawan Viewing Tower in Singapore is where you can get a bird’s-eye view of Sentosa Island and the stunning seascape, perfect for that Instagram-worthy shot. It is also the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia, Singapore!

What To Watch Out For:

There is a nice footpath all around the bay of Sentosa so you can easily walk from one beach to the other from the hotels. As always, it is really hot in Singapore – even in the morning! So be careful. When we went, the bridge was closed even though it was after ‘opening time’ so be aware that it might still be roped off when you go early.

Where To Find The Perfect View For A Photo:

One of the best locations for photos in Singapore - The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple

Photo Location #11: Buddha Tooth Relic Temple

Why This Spot Is So Amazing For Photos:

The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple in Singapore is where spirituality meets Instagrammability, like a zen garden with a side of social media. This stunning temple is sure to enlighten your followers with its intricate architecture and serene atmosphere. This massive temple is located in the Chinatown side of Singapore and is easily accessible.

What To Watch Out For:

I took a few photos here but again, because of its location being so close to the footpath it is hard to get a good shot of the full temple. I still highly recommend it as it is definitely one of the most aesthetic places in Singapore but it’s not the best spots for taking portraits.

Where To Find The Perfect View For A Photo:

Marina Bay

Photo Location #12: The Promontory@Marina Bay

Why This Spot Is So Amazing For Photos:

The Promontory@Marina Bay in Singapore is where the city meets the sea, offering a picturesque backdrop for any Instagram photo. From stunning views of the skyline to picturesque sunsets, this waterfront spot is a must-visit for anyone looking to add some beauty to their feed.

What To Watch Out For:

It is a super popular hangout for people during the weekends and after work. There is plenty of space for photos as it is full of wide walking promenades so you can visit anytime. That makes it one of the easier locations for photos in Singapore since you’ll probably be in the area at some time or another during your trip.

Where To Find The Perfect View For A Photo:

The Supertree Grove

Photo Location #13: Marina Bay Overpass Viewing Point

Why This Spot Is So Amazing For Photos:

The Supertree Grove is a futuristic and iconic feature of Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay, with towering tree-like structures reaching up to 50 metres in height. These towering vertical gardens are not only a marvel of engineering and sustainability, but also provide stunning photo opportunities both day and night. This viewing spot is good for getting them all into your frame so its one of the best locations for photos of Gardens by the Bay in Singapore.

What To Watch Out For:

Personally I preferred taking photos in the day, as at night it gets a little bit too Disneyland-esque vibes for me. It is usually quite busy as it is right near the escalator and lift so most people head over here for a photo. There is usually a little window before the next group of people get out of the lift to take a photo.

Verdict: locations for photos in Singapore are Hot, Humid, & Totally instagrammable

There are some places in Singapore that are so unique and interesting. I still highly recommend visiting Chinatown, Little India, the Arab Quarter, The Botanic Gardens, and Marina Bay. Although there are some definite tourist traps (Haji Lane and Flower Dome being the major ones), there are some great spots that are so fabulous (Botanic Gardens for nature, Sentosa for resorts, and temples and hawker centres for culture). I think there are thousands of amazingly aesthetic places in Singapore and I will definitely be back to visit as it is one of those countries that has so many hidden gems tucked around each corner. Just keep in mind it is really hot and humid, and walking far takes a lot of effort and you’ll get very sweaty. Our camera isn’t waterproof so we ended up taking photos with our phones.
