First impressions
This was my first time in Prague and my partner’s second. We were coming from the train station and it was luckily very close considering it was snowing a lot the day we arrived. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous, warm, and inviting as we arrived freezing from the snow and almost slipping on the intricate mosaic tiles that line the footpaths in Prague.
The look
The hotel is insanely beautiful. The art deco brings you right back to the 1920s. Every detail is stylised and that is where the magic happens: gorgeous mosaics, golden trims and geometric shapes.
The Room
Once we got up to the room, we were happy to see the rooms are nice and cosy even though it was the middle of winter. The rooms have a kettle, cups, and wine glasses. You can can order in breakfast to the room but its not included in breakfast price. My favourite part was the beautiful bathrooms with bath and shower over the bath.
You have everything you need in the bathroom too – a scale, shampoo, body wash, a robe, slippers, an amenities kit, and you can request a non-slip bath mat for the shower too. Getting ready here for a night out made me feel like I was about to join a Great Gatsby party. There is also beautiful views from the room of the city but the balcony does not open which probably doesn’t matter as you wont want bring in the noise from the trams outside. I also found that the internet in the room was incredibly slow, so don’t plan to watch any Netflix or upload any Reels to Instagram when you get back from a walk around town.
The Facilities
There are great amenities here including a self-service spa and fitness centre with all the supplies (towels etc) however since I was here during Christmas you can bet I was having a break from doing any type of fitness. What I loved about this hotel was that there was a really private feel about it. That is quite rare in a hotel that has a major tourist attraction. But Art Deco Imperial Hotel make sure to keep these areas free for hotel guests only.
The food & drink
The highlight of course is being able to have your breakfast at the popular Cafe Imperial. This is probably the most beautiful buffet breakfast however there are not many vegan options. You can ask for soya milk and I had a soya decaf latte brewed especially for me each morning which was lovely.
The location
In terms of location, this hotel could not be more perfect as it is central to everything – only a couple of minutes walk to the main Christmas Markets of Prague and the train station. If you’re staying in Prague, this hotel is perfect to visit all the amazing sites in Prague during winter. You are also just a few seconds away from the cutest cafe in Prague, Cafe Imperial! The best part though, for all my vegan readers, is that this hotel is only a few shops away from Loving Hut and a vegan grocery store.
How to book Art Deco Imperial Hotel Prague
My favourite way to book hotels is through Booking.com. Booking.com offers a price guarantee (even when not paying upfront and paying at the hotel), they match prices, and they also offer a wide range of rooms with benefits (like afternoon tea and breakfast). Eating breakfast in the Cafe Imperial every morning.

Slow wi-fi is just something I can’t live with in 2023.
Who would love to stay at Art Deco Imperial Hotel Prague?
I think this hotel would suit someone who can enjoy the buffet breakfast more than me. Since I’m vegan, I wasn’t able to make the most of it due to the lack of vegan options. It is also perfect for someone who wants to be close to all the action while also staying in one of the most aesthetically pleasing 1920s hotels.
