The Best Vegan-friendly Food in Bangkok: The Best Kept Secrets

where do you find the Best vegan-friendly food in bangkok?

In my humble opinion, Bangkok is incredibly vegan friendly. Many department stores, malls, and supermarkets stock a range of plant-based alternatives. You’ll find a huge range of restaurants, cafes, and street food options. If you’re spending the day out in Bangkok, you are sure to be able to find a vegan option or two near you. In saying that, not all vegan options are created equal!

What will you find here:

If you’re visiting Thailand and looking for a meal in Bangkok (whether small or large), I’ve put together a list of what I think are the best vegan finds. This is obviously my opinion! From cafes to restaurants to ice cream, I’ve got you covered for your big days out sightseeing in Bangkok.

Jasmine Siam Kitchen

Recommended for: authentic Thai food in a casual vegan restaurant setting

Jasmine Siam Kitchen is a great spot for vegans and non-vegans alike. They have a regular menu, a vegetarian menu, and a vegan menu! You will find all the Thai dishes you know and love here – pineapple rice, pad thai, and curries. It is also a women-owned business. You seriously cannot go wrong with this one.

Walee Vegetarian

Recommended for: the best cheap vegan food

Walee Vegetarian, unlike the name suggests, has a huge range of mostly vegan meals. The meals are great if you want to try some more unique Thai/Chinese dishes instead of your go-to pad thai. Their HQ in Watthana is where all the food is made (you can eat there too- it is a restaurant) and then brought to Emquartier each day. In the Emquartier food court there is a buffet or you can choose from a smaller menu. At the restaurant in Watthana, there is no buffet, but a bigger menu. Both options are awesome and it’s honestly so exciting to me to be able to eat at a food court. Sometimes, it is the little things!

Ice cream from Molly Ally.

Molly Ally

Recommended For: the best mylk shakes

This is a chain store of icecream stands using oat milk. Of course, I recommend trying all the icecreams here. Molly Ally have some amazing flavours like butterfly pea lime and hojicha. But when you’re done with that make sure you try the mylk shakes! Made with UOAT mylk, they have amazing flavours like sakura lychee, biscoff and more. Make sure you don’t forget the toppings here, too!

Ying’s Garden/BaanYing

Recommended For: The best range of vegan Thai food

Right across the road from Centralworld and next to Big C department store is a small mall called The Market Bangkok. On the first couple of floors it looks nice – maybe slightly quiet but the further up you go the more empty it becomes. You might be thinking you’ve gone to the wrong place. You haven’t. Take a deep breath, and keep going. It is going to pay off. Trust me. Once on the third floor keep walking to the back where it is hidden away in the corner. Here you will find Baan Ying by Ying’s Garden.

You’ll find amazing food here, but be careful – they don’t hold back on the spice! I highly recommend trying all your favourites as well as some of the more interesting dishes like the omelettes.

Hebe ice cream options.

Hebe Ice Cream

Recommended For: Icecream (duh!)

I’m not going to tell you what ice cream to get at Hebe Ice Cream because everyone has a different favourite. Whatever you do, get at least 2 flavours because you will want to try them all at least once. I went for the Thai tea and pistachio and they did not disappoint! Make you you don’t forget the toppings.

The Vegan Table will fill your belly.

The Vegan Table

Recommended for: the best vegan restaurant/bar meals

The Vegan Table has some of the most popular vegan food in Bangkok, but it is that way for a reason. Personally I am not too big of a fan of the area that it is located (it is in a popular nightlife area) but it is worth going to just to eat here, even if you aren’t going to enjoy the festivities of the area. It basically looks like a bar but they serve very decent vegan food and the menu is fully vegan.

When we went we got their Christmas roast special, a pizza and some calamari (all vegan ofc). It is some of the best vegan food we have ever had, so it is definitely worth coming for the food.

The Tonklarfacai aesthetic.

Tonklarfacai

Recommended for: the best vegan cafe with aesthetic salads

Tonklarfacai is a cafe with a few different locations over Bangkok but we went to the spot in Aree, a popular area for Bangkok residents and Expats alike. The food here is “healthy vegan” which means you are expected to have working tastebuds to appreciate the food. All the food here is beautifully presented and very unique. This is a great place to go if you want to eat some delicious fruit and veggies in a calm, aesthetic cafe. If I was a digital nomad looking for a cute spot to work I would come to this cafe.
