Japan Guide: Everything You Need to Know

All About

Japan

I lived in Japan for seven years and during that time I was able to see so many amazing places I’d love to share with you. From instagrammable locations in Tokyo to road trips around Shikoku, I hope you’ll be able to find something that fits your needs!

If you can’t find what you’re looking for, maybe you want to ask me a question for me about Japan? Check out my FAQ or feel free to reach out to me at @apicturesquelife. I’ll be happy to hear from you!

What is the best time to visit Japan?

Personally I think that Japan is a country that is worth visiting at any season! The first time I visited Japan was in February and I was hooked. When the spring cherry trees blossoms and autumn leaves turn bright yellow and red is when most travellers flock to Japan.

Can i just move to japan if i love it?

I think every single person who travels to Japan can agree that one of the worst parts of travelling to Japan is that you will have to leave. If you travel to Japan and decide you want to live there, I have a complete step-by-step guide on how to move to Japan. It is not the easiest country to move to, but it is possible (and made a lot easier for those eligible for a Working Holiday Visa).

Is it easy to travel Japan as a vegan?

If you’re travelling to Japan, there are enough vegan restaurants across Tokyo and Coco Curry locations to sustain you for your trip, but if you’re staying long term or living in Japan you will unfortunately find that Japan is not a vegan-friendly country. Most dishes in restaurants and processed meals/ingredients contain milk, fish, or pork.
